COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

When is the fair? The Jefferson County Fair is the last full weekend in August (the weekend before Labor Day weekend).

Who can enter the fair or horse show? You must be a Jefferson County resident in order to enter exhibits in the fair or to enter the kid's horse show and rodeo.

When are the rodeos & how much do they cost? The rodeo starts at 2 on Saturday and Sunday, and costs $8 (adults) and $3 for kids (ages 6-12). The Wrangler Roundup, on Friday at 4:30 is free.
How do I enter the Wrangler Roundup ? Call 225-3234 between 4 and 6 on Monday of fair & rodeo week.

How do I enter the Rodeo Parade? Show up by 11:00 Saturday, in front of the Baptist Church just off Main Street, to sign up. The parade starts at noon.

What are the entry deadlines? The fair booklet lists all deadlines & is available in local businesses in July. Email bullheadm@aol.com for fair and kid's horse show deadlines, & anikmccauley@jeffbb.net for rodeo and wrangler roundup entry deadlines.

Volunteer Hall

The newest building at the fairgrounds can be used for a variety of purposes including: civil and community club activities, reunions; workshops, conferences, fund raisers, meetings and receptions. It has the following features: full warming kitchen with 2 stoves, 2 commercial refrigerators, commercial freezer, large sink, microwave, coffee percolators. Volunteer hall is heated, has restrooms, concrete floor, handicap access. There are 112 folding chairs and 16 6'tables. It has close access to the loafing barn, open space and parking. WiFi is available on site.

Rental Rates for Volunteer Hall are:
full day w/full kitchen: $100
full day w/ part kitchen $75
full day w/o kitchen $50
half day w/full kitchen $75
half day w/part kitchen $50
half day w/o kitchen $30

Deposit per day: $200
Occupancies: 207 Standing Only, 96 Seated

square dance barn

The Square Dance Barn is available for rental for various events including birthday parties, reunions, concessions or beer garden for larger events, private parties to name a few. Its features include: refrigerator for drinks, chest freezer, concrete floor, loft area with stairs, opens to grassy & shaded playground. Tables and chairs are available as are 3 shelf display tiers. The overall dimensions are 34'x36' on the main floor.

The rental rate is $50 per day with a $100 deposit.
Occupancies: 128 Main Floor

loafing barn

The Loafing Barn is available for many uses including barbeques, family reunions, birthday parties, wedding receptions, class reunions, arts and crafts shows and private parties. Its features include: two refrigerators, a counter for selling beverages, open area with 23 picnic tables, concrete floor, small stage, tables and chairs available. It has close access to Volunteer Hall and open space and parking.

The rental rate is $75 per day with a $100 deposit.
The overall dimensions are 75' x 80'.
Occupancies: 366 seated, 823 standing only
